PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of hardening irregularities by immersing treating materials in a quenching medium, moving the same by revolving without changing the immersion state to give liquid flow successively to the entire surface of hardening surfaces thereby hardening said materials. CONSTITUTION:A basket 16 contg. treating materials heated to hardening temp. is immersed into the quenching medium 2 of a hardening tank 1 by a cylinder 6, and a crank 15 is rotated. This forces the basket 16 to make circular motion on the perpendicular plane, so that the upper parts of the treating materials oppose to the quenching medium 2 in their ascending process, the left parts in the leftward moving process, the lower parts in the descending process and the right side in the rightward moving process, respectively and this results in that the materials directly receive the flow of the medium 2 successively from 360 deg. directions. In this way, the treating materials are cooled at the same rate of cooling of their four sides. |
