摘要 Bores are machined by means of a spherical tool (1), the surface (2) of which is provided with working elements (3). The machining results from a movement of the mechanical treatment and an axial feed movement between the tool (1) and the workpiece (5) to be machined. The movement of the mechanical treatment includes a relative rotation between the tool and the workpiece to be machined. The tool has a geometric axis arranged either at an acute angle to the bore axis or at a variable angle to the bore axis. The movement of the mechanical treatment thereby runs in such a way that the working elements have a variable motion component directed axially with regard to the bore. Consequently, the parts of the working elements in contact with the workpiece to be machined change continually, so that the working elements are subjected to less stress, and the service life of the tool is thereby substantially prolonged. <IMAGE>
