PURPOSE:To smoothen the recovery of an ink and movements of a printing head by a method wherein a short pipe for an ink-recovering device being moved as one body with the printing head is connected to a liquid-receiving part at a predetermined position only, without using any long ink-recovering pipes. CONSTITUTION:The ink-recovering pipe 33 is connected to the liquid-receiving part 40, only when the ink-recovering device 7 moved as one body with the head is returned to its home position. For instance, a nozzle part 36 opened and closed by a valve 35 having a magnet of the same polarity with that of the liquid-receiving part 40 is provided at the tip of the ink-recovering pipe 33, and the valve 35 being normally closed is opened by a magnetic repulsive force at the time of inserting the tip of the pipe 33, resulting in that the ink is jetted energetically. In addition, a pushing rod 37 rotates a lever 38 to expand an expansion bellows 43 so that the ink is sucked in through a suction valve 42 by a negative pressure. Accordingly, since no long pipes of large diameter are used, such troubles as lowering in stability of a carriage and dripping of a liquid can be prevented. |
