PURPOSE:To prevent an ink from scattering at the time of impingement by a method wherein a body to be recorded is moved in extremely minute amounts in the flight direction of ink droplets, in an ink jet printer. CONSTITUTION:In the ink jet printer wherein a nozzle 1 and an ink 2 contained therein are pressure-vibrated by a vibrator 5 so that the ink 2 is jetted from an orifice 3 as ink droplets 4 to record on the surface 7 of a body 6 to be recorded, the body 6 to be recorded is fitted by a fixed frame 11 onto a support base 10 which transmits the vibration of a vibrator 8 to the body 6 through a vibration-amplifying horn 9. A power source 15 for driving the vibrator 8 is controlled through the detection of the approach of the ink droplet 4 by an ink droplet sensing part 14, 14', or alternatively, it is controlled synchronously with a power source 16 for driving the vibrator 5. When the vibrator 8 is thus driven and the body 6 to be recorded is moved slightly in the flight direction of the ink droplets 4, the ink droplets can be deposited on the body 6 while alleviating the shock and the ink is prevented from scattering. |
