Air collector for solar heater - has transparent outer layers and radiation absorbing inner layers which may be laminated

The solar heating system uses air collectors which can consist of three or four superimposed flexible layers to form air channels. For three layers, the two outer layers can be of plastics material and the inner layer is of a plastics material of a higher heat resistance, or of a fibre reinforced plastics material or can be a fabric. The inner layer or layers absorb between 30 and 80 per cent of the solar radiation, and the outer layers are transparent. The inner layers can be formed of at least two laminations, the lamination furthest from the radiation absorbing more than 80 percent and the nearer lamination absorbing less than 20 percent of the radiation. The inner layers can be in the form of a fine metal mesh.
