The live parts of the connector are contained in an insulated moulding (1). The inlet connector comprises a spring element (2) located in the moulding. The free end of the spring bears against an extension (7) of the connector (4) to the outlets (3). This extension has a local deformation (14) which acts together with the end of the spring to trap the bared end of an inserted cable and give a good connection. The connector extension (7) may also bear against a flange (8) forming part of the spring pressing. The outlet terminals, all electrically joined to the connector bar (4), may be of any desired form, for example for push-on connectors (3). The connector block is normally of the type which can be assembled in rows like terminal blocks.
