<p>The protective goggles are of plain transparent or coloured plastics sheet cut into a shape resembling double butterfly wings in plan view. By joining the ends of the wings on each side together, rigid hollow bodies are formed, covering the wearer's eyes in all directions and giving a panoramic view. Holes can be drilled in the wing tips and brought in pairs into line with each other when shaping the material, being secured in this position by holders, typically on the ends of a head band. The sheet of material can be so cut between the wings on the same side as to leave a ventilation opening (8) between them when they are secured together.</p> |
