The aim and object of the invention is the preparation of a paper size of a high degree of hydration and small flock size, without emulsifiers and with a reduction in the colophony content. According to the invention, the combination size contains colophony and/or colophony derivatives, alkanes and/or alkane derivatives and also montan wax. In addition, the process according to the invention for preparing the combination size is described. The size according to the invention can be used in the paper industry.
