PURPOSE:To reduce the consumption of coke by a method wherein a pyrolyzing furnace having a pyrolyzing gas exhaust passage is provided above a pile of waste, a slagging and melting section is provided under the pyrolyzing furnace and a coke supply means and an air sucking tuyer are provided above the slagging and melting section, in the captioned waste treating apparatus. CONSTITUTION:The waste in the waste treating apparatus is pyrolyzed by the sensible heat in the slagging and melting section 4 and the pyrolyzing gas in the pyrolyzing section 3 and incombustible residue falls down on the section 4 through a chute 5. The pyrolyzing section 3 has a rotary umbrella type rooster 40 at the center of the bottom of thereof. When the rooster 40 is rotated, an oxygen gas and a part of the pyrolyzing gas are supplied into the pyrolyzing section 3 from below. Consequently, water contained in the waste is evaporated in a drying section 26, a tar substance in the waste is precipitated in a tar precipitation section 27, liqufied in a pyrolyzing section 28 and burned in a water gas generating section 29. Further, the incombustibles are burned in a combustion section 30 and the remaining incombustibles fall down on the slagging and melting section 4 through a chute 5. In this case, the slagging and melting section 4 is cooled to keep a minimum combustion temperature so that the incombustibles can be burned completely with a minimum possible supply of coke. |
