<p>A nozzle for the venting, aerating, vaporising and spraying of moulds, both in metal casting and plastics processing, is intended to be fitted into an aperture in the mould wall. The nozzle is composed of two parts: a nozzle holder which can be driven into a firm seating in the wall, and a nozzle unit which can be inserted and locked into the nozzle holder. The nozzle holder pref. has an internal projection or flanges. Nozzle holder and nozzle unit may be screwed together. The nozzle holder may be entirely or partly of plastics, esp. "TEFLON" (RTM). For various uses particularly in plastics processing, esp. prodn. of foam plastics and also in metallurgical moulds. The nozzle is firmly positioned in the mould but can be easily replaced; a number of nozzles of different sizes can be alternatively fixed into a single nozzle holder designed for the bore in the mould wall. The internal flange may carry a sealing ring and/or a filter or sieve.</p> |
