Foot operated centre board for sail board - has sprung ratchets to adjust friction held centre board

The centreboard (1) is inserted into the slot in the sailboard from the top and is held in position by an axle stub (4) in two slots (5) in the board. The centreboard is fitted with a friction hold and has two ratchet cams (8,9) operated by sprung foot pressed ratchet levers (10) to adjust the setting in either direction. Pressure on either foot pad (12) indexes the ratchet setting by one notch. The ratchet levers are normally out of contact with the cams so that the board is able to swing back unimpeded when striking bottom, without injury to the operator's foot.
