Pad for absorbing liquids excreted from the human body, e.g. a sanitary towel, has an absorbent core formed of fibrous matter. The fibrous matter is compressed in the region where, in use, the pad receives the excreted liquid and the compressed region serves to transfer the liquid to the remainder of the pad. The compressed region may have channels to facilitate entry of liquid into the pad. |
