Digital telephone exchange for delta modulated signals - has time-space-time switching with high capacity storage and super multiplex space transmission

Digital telephone exchange for delta modulated signals. The exchange can carry increased traffic by using super multiplex internal highways and by not restoring the signals to standard PCM format. The exchange is a time-spaced- time configuration. The exchange comprises speech storage (SM) divided into input stores (ME) and output stores (MA) connected through the space (RS) switching stage. The space switching stage (RS) also has an address/counter input (AD). To increase traffic carrying capacity, the input (ME) and output (MA) stores are switchable read/write (ME..12.MA11....12). The store inputs and outputs are connected through anti-parallel switches (UVE,UNE..UVA,UNA). The space switching stage (RS) also incorporates the super-multiplexing 8Mbit/s through switching facility (M1----M4). Their outputs are compatible with the inputs of the output stores (MA11,MA12... MA41,MA42).
