PURPOSE:To obtain a counter and an operating device to be used with small capacity, by counting pulses generated in accordance with the passing quantity of a travelling body for every constant period, converting a change for each period to an unit of length and performing addition. CONSTITUTION:The number of pulses from a generator generated in accordance with the passing quantity of a travelling body passing through a measuring point is counted at every duration of controlling pulses generated for every prescribed period, then a change for each period is converted to a practical unit of length and added. For example, a pulse signal from a pulse generator 3 caused by passage of a travelling body 1 is transmitted to an integrating counter 4' for each period using controlling pulses generated by a controlling pulse device 7 at every constant period. Next, a changed quantity at each period is detected with a changed quantity detector 8, and is converted to a practical unit of length in a divider 9, thus the total passing quantity is obtained. In this case, the remainder caused by the action of the divider is made to be added to the subsequent period. |
