PURPOSE:To increase the fixing sensitivity and to enhance the shelf stability by forming a basic substance generating layer contg. a Co (III) ammine complex and polyethylene glycol having a specified average mol.wt., a specified intermediate layer, and a color developing layer on a support in this order. CONSTITUTION:A recording member is manufactured by forming a basic substance generating layer 2 based on a Co (III) ammine or amine complex, the redox couple of polynuclear quinone showing absorption in the wavelength region of 400-500nm and a hydrogen donor, a chelating agent causing slight absorption in the visible part when coordinated to Co, and polyethylene glycol having 2,000-20,000 average mol.wt., an intermediate layer 3 made of water soluble or emulsion resin, and a color developing layer 4 based on oxidizable leucotriarylmethane, an acid promoting color development, and hexaarylbiimidazole convertible into a photooxidizing agent by the absorption of ultraviolet rays on a support 1. The polyethylene glycol and the layer 3 enhance the shelf stability of the recording member before use, and the fixing sensitivity is also enhanced without deteriorating the color developing sensitivity. |
