PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy and reproducibility of physiologic effect of chemical material or the like on aquatic life by use of a test solution in which bacteria is killed or reduced by ultraviolet rays. CONSTITUTION:Ultraviolet rays irradiate water flown into a water tank 1 through a water feed pipe 2 to kill or reduce bacteria and air is introduced from an aeration pipe 4 to feed oxygen to the water, which then is adjusted with a heater 3 to a specified temperature. After test water tanks 7a-7b, pipes and the like are stable in the flow rate, a chemical liquid 19 in which sample material in a chemical liquid tank 18 dissolves is sent continuously to a mixed water tank 11. The chemical liquid 19 is diluted being mixed with the water which flows into a water tank 11 passing through a first branch pipe 17a from the water tank 7a and the water which flows into the water tank 11 passing through a pipe 8b from the pipe 6 and flows into a second test water tank 7b. Likewise, the test water thus diluted flows into the test tanks 7c-7e by one-half. In this manner, himedakas are fed in the first test water tank and the second-fifth tanks for a given period. Thereafter, it is possible to calculate TLm value of chemical material for himedakas from the number of living himedakas. |
