PURPOSE:To read figure information with a simple method to simplify a reader by making constitution of figure a rectangular form for which a longitudinal and lateral bars are used as a main frame, by making figures for information display suitable for a mark reading system and by reading one part of a figure as a mark. CONSTITUTION:Constitution of figure information on a business form is made to be a rectangular form that uses a longitudinal and lateral bars as a main frame, and one part of a longitudinal bar is made to belong to respecrive predetermined positions in the upper and under direction and in the left and right direction, thereby allowing constitution readable with a mark reading system to be obained. Signals of a longitudinal bar in the upper and lower directions and in the right and left directions of said figure information are detected with sensors SU and SL respectively, after being amplified with an amplifiers AMPU and AMPL said signals are converted into rectangular pulses in waveform shaping circuit WFU and WFL. These pulses are given to pulse phase detecting circuits PDU, PDL a reference pulse detector DET respectively, and time differences among respective bars are derected on the basis of an output from the detector DET. Further on the basis of the time differences, data storing devices MEMU and MEML and a data decoding analyzer ANL are used to discriminate the figures. |
