PURPOSE:A bacterium in Methylobacterium, producing the titled substance, is cultured to produce the titled substance economically in a large scale. CONSTITUTION:A strain in Methylobacterium capable of producing coenzyme Q10 such as methylobacterium organophilum ATCC29983 is cultured in a medium containing pepton, saccharide, ethanol, ammonium sulfate, casein, magnesium salts, vitamins and others. The bacterium cells are removed from the culture mixture, washed and extracted with hot ethanol, that is, a usual process is applied to obtain the objective coenzyme Q10 of the formula. |
