Compounds of formula : wherein R<1> is alkyl, cycloalkyl (e.g. cyclopentyl or cyclohexyl) or optionally substituted phenyl; R<2> is optionally substituted phenyl or optionally substituted benzyl; and X is a halogen atom; and acid addition salts and metal complexes thereof. The compounds are useful as intermediates in the preparation of triazole ethanol derivatives.
