PURPOSE:To expand the capture range while keeping the phase locked loop in a stable state by adding ternary phase error information, inverted ternary phase error information generated by a ternary phase error information generating means to a voltage controlled oscillator. CONSTITUTION:Binary phase error information Ei, Q1 of channel I and binary phase error information EQ, I1 of channel Q are fed to EX-OR gates 41, 42, where EX-OR processing is applied and they are extracted by using a clock CK at D flip-flops D-FF43, 44. Then outputs of terminals Q of the D-FF 43, 44 are given to a plus terminal and a minus terminal of the differential amplifier 51 and outputs of the terminal Q are fed to a plus and minus terminal of the differential amplifier 52 respectively and analogical difference is taken. Thus, while keeping the stable state of the phase locked loop is kept, the voltage of the ternary phase error information is doubled in giving the output to a voltage controlled oscillator, then the capture range is expanded. |
