发明名称 SYSTEM FOR CARBONATING BEVERAGES
摘要 1357994 Aerating liquids CROWN CORK & SEAL CO Inc 30 March 1972 [7 June 1971] 14999/72 Heading B1C A beverage carbonation system comprises a water and syrup mixer 10, a cooler 12, a continuous flow carbonator 20, a stabilizing tank 22 in which the beverage is held for a predetermined residence time to complete solution of the gas, and a container filler 14. Carbonation takes place at a pressure above, and stabilization and filling below 40 lb/in<SP>2</SP>, with a difference of 2-7 lb/in<SP>2</SP> between stabilization and filling pressures. The pump 18 is actuated by level sensors (62, Fig. 2, not shown) in the tank 22 and valves 30, 40 respectively controlling the carbon dioxide supply to the carbonator 20 and to the head space in tank 22 are linked with the pump to open only when it is operating. A needle valve 32 and a flowmeter 34 determine and monitor the gas flow rate. In a modification (see Fig. 5, not shown) having automatic regulation of the gas flow rate, a valve (110) in a pressure air flow is adjusted to provide a reference pressure which is that of the desired carbon dioxide flow rate, and a flow controller (114) compares this with the carbon dioxide flow rate signal generated by a motor (100) and if necessary cosines a connecting signal which adjusts the carbon dioxide flow control valve (102). The carbonator, Fig. 3, comprises a gas diffuser consisting of a microporous stainless steel tube 64 over which the beverage mix flows and to the interior of which the carbon dioxide is supplied. The cross-section of the annular space between the tube 64 and the transparent housing 58 is equal to that of the conduit in which the carbonator is inserted. The micropores have a diameter of 100 microns.
