The inner layers of fabric may be pre-folded and introduced into the lower channels 13 while plates 22 supported on arms 24 pivoted at a stud 25 hold them there. The zip passes under the guide 21 and through a guide 15, while the outer layers of fabric are placed on top of the guide 15 and guided by the rib 19. The guides are all brass and are brazed together. A supporting plate (underneath the plate 14) wih flanges 27 (Fig. 2, not shown) serves to mount the attachment on a sewing machine. Spring blades (not shown) may pass into the channels 13 to press against the fabric there and control its speed through the guide. |
