PURPOSE:To improve the low density reproducibility of transfer images by subjecting an electrostatic latent image holding body to AC corona discharge treatment superposed with a DC component of a prescribed polarity prior to transfer stage after developing stage. CONSTITUTION:The electrostatic latent images formed on a photosensitive drum 12 which is an electrostatic image carrying body are developed by the one component type developer scattered by a developing roll 17 opposing to the drum 12 via a spacing. The drum 12 having undergone developing treatment before transfer with a transfer corona charger 24 is accomplished is subjected to AC corona discharge treatment superposed with a prescribed DC component of a reverse polarity to that of the developer by a corona discharger 23. Thereby, the transfer of the developer in unnecessary nonimage parts is suppressed, in addition to which the slope of the reproducing curve of development is made gentle and the fidelity of reproducibility is improved. Hence, the low density reproducibility of the transfer images is improved, and the image transfer of good contrast is accomplished despite the secular change or environmental change. |
