摘要 PURPOSE:To measure the specific gravity by a simple operation very accurately, in the specific gravity measuring device for the gas utilizing a Bunsen-Schilling method, by electrically sensing the variation in a water level which rises in a tube. CONSTITUTION:At first, a gaseous pressure source of the gas to be measured is connected to a pipe 12. Solenoids valves 13 and 17 are opened by the instruction of a central processing unit CPU, and the gas is pressed into a measuring tube 3. Thereafter, the solenoid valve 17 is closed, the water level 26 is pushed down to a large diameter part 11 at the location lower than a sensor 19, the gas is filled in the measuring tube 3, and the solenoid valve 13 is closed. Then, the measurement start switch 32 is turned ON, the solenoid valve 17 is opened after the time set by a timer 33, and the gas is exhausted to the free air through the tube 15, an orifice 16, and the solenoid valve 17. Then, the water level 26 in the measuring tube 3 rises up due to the pressure of the water 2 in a container 1. The water level is sensed by the sensor 19 when it passes a constricted part 10, and sensed by a sensor 18 when it passes a constricted part 8. The time interval between both sensing points is displayed on a display 34, and the specific gravity of the gas is measured.
