PURPOSE:To prevent high dark decay of potential and to obtain a high quality image, by adding tetrazole or its derivative to a protective layer in an electrophotographic receptor made by successively laminating a photoconductive layer and the protective layer on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:A photoconductive layer made of amorphous Se or an Se/As alloy, or the like is formed on a conductive substrate made of an aluminum base or the like by a vacuum vapor deposition method or the like. One or more kinds of compounds havng a tetrazole skeleton represented by the formula (I) or (II), such as tetrazolium blue or tetrazolium red are added to a binder resin, such as polycarbonate resin in 0.1-70wt%, and this is coated on the photoconductive layer to form a protective layer, thus permitting a desired electrophotographic receptor to be obtained. In addition, its various characteristics are enhanced by adding an electron acceptor, such as phthalic acid or henzoquinone together with the compound having the tetrazole skeleton to the protective layer. |
