PURPOSE:To improve cleaning efficiency and reliability by rotating a fur brush consisting of electrically-conductive fibers in contact with the surface of a photoreceptor and allowing the same to also contact with a flicker bar applied with AC voltage. CONSTITUTION:The untransferred remaining toner images on a photosensitive drum 1 enter a developing/cleaner unit for the purpose of preliminary cleaning. At this time, a fur brush 4 is rotated through keeping an interference area of, for example, about 15mm. width from the drum 1, and a flicker bar 5 applied with voltage from an electric power source 6 and consisting of nonmagnetic metal is connected to the fur brush 4. Therefore, the remaining latent images and remaining toner on the drum 1 in contact with the fur brush 4 receive the effect of irregular alternating electric fields released from the leading end part of the fur brush 4, whereby they are subjected to electrostatic scattering effect and mechanical wiping effect and are captured onto a sleeve 3 by the magnetic attraction force of a magnetic roll 2. Thereby, cleaning efficiency is improved. |
