The arrangement enables manual driving of a car with an automatic clutch. It consists of a mechanical method of replacing foot operated controls which are actuated by the throttle lever, acting on the carburettor via a solid rod. Desired acceleration is obtained by contact of two rounded jaws, one fixed and the other moving below it. The upper jaw has a non slip bearing and a spring, not to affect normal accelerator operation. The system is connected by a hand brake cable. When braking, the upper jaw releases the accelerator, worked by a return spring. |
