Biological sewage treatment basin - with adjustable cross partitions and aerator plates along bottom

An aeration basin in a biological sewage treatment by the activated sludge principle has reactangular shape and is subdivided by partitions with filter cloth stretched across frames with a height adjustment. The frames are sealed against the side walls but leave an adjustable clearance along the bottom. Plate-type aerators cover the bottom to produce a uniform aeration of fine bubbles. The partition spacing is chosen to maintain a uniform or gradually increasing oxygen content and a gradually decreasing solids content. This has a very high purifin. efficiency and is functionally reliable. It is extremely economical as regards capital and operating costs.
