<p>PURPOSE:To stabilize the brake pedal stroke in a captioned cylinder by connecting the first pressure chamber with a reservoir constantly via spiral grooves for increasing the pressure in the first pressure chamber on the basis of the viscosity resistance of the liquid passing through the spiral grooves when a brake pedal is operated. CONSTITUTION:A master cylinder to be used in a hydrostatic brake device for a car is provided with the second and the third pressure chamber 11 and 13 connected to a wheel cylinder for generating a high pressure and a pressure chamber 10 of a large diameter. The first pressure chamber 10 is constantly connected with a reservoir via a compensation port consisting of spiral grooves 27a, and a nonreturn valve 21 to permit the suction of liquid from the reservoir 20 and a relief valve 22 to provide for the upper limit value of pressure are equipped at the first connecting port 1c. Since the pressure increase in the first pressure chamber 10 at the initial stage of a brake pedal operation is attained by the viscosity resistance of the liquid passing through spiral grooves 27a, an effective braking can be obtained by a stable brake pedal stroke without reference to the stepping speed of the brake pedal.</p> |
