<p>A refractory powder is intended for filling in a light guiding unit used for transmitting the thermal radiation from the melt to the pyrometer through the lining of a metallurgical plant and has the following composition in% by weight: alumina: 40-70, silica: 29-59 and a caking agent: 0.3.-2.0, boric acid being used as such caking agent. A method of obtaining the refractory powder provides for heating the alumina powder and silica powder up to temperatures of 1200 to 1400 C and 900 to 1200 C respectively, subsequent cooling down to room temperature and mixing together with a caking agent until obtaining a homogeneous mass. </p> |
