The recovery vehicle towing aid enables it to tow an additional vehicle to that carried on its load surface by having a support frame secured under its rear end, with support wheels on the ground behind the vehicle to take the load. A boom with a crane hoist lifts the towed vehicle while a rigid bar stabilises the tow. The crane frame is extended from a stowed position under the rear of the recovery vehicle by servo rams. The support wheels relieve the loading on the rear of the vehicle so that heavy vehicles can be towed.
