PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a circuit connecting mechanism by adding the functions of a multifrequency signal receiver to the modulator and demodulator of an information processing center and by switching operations in response to a signal from the circuit connecting mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A modulator and demodulator (MODEN) MOD has the function of detecting a multifrequency signal, the function of converting digitized four-bit multifrequency signal information into a series signal, and the function of switching and sending series signals to a signal line RD. When an operator at a terminal which is not in the figure dials some number with the handset off the hook, a call display signal Ci is inputted to a communication controller NCU and after a connection, a terminal ready signal ER arrives, so that the MODEM MOD sends back a data set ready signal DR. In response to a switching signal SEL from a voice response adapter VOA, an audio response is made and when a push-button signal is received from a push-button telephone as a terminal, it is sent from the signal line RD to a circuit adapter LA, which composes one character and performs successive reception. Then, the MODEM MOD finishes the reception of the multifrequency signal and received data. |
