PURPOSE:To increase a retrieval speed by jumping over a recording track, where an address signal is recorded incorrectly, and recording an address signal correctly in a retrieval direction. CONSTITUTION:Each recording track of a recording medium is scanned at a read point R for the regeneration 18 of an information signal consisting of superposed address signals, and an address-signal discriminating means 19 of reading address signals from the information signal read out by the said regeneration, and a moving- direction storing means 27 of discriminating and storing the moving direction of the read point R from the current address that the read point R is scanning are provided. Then, means 25 and 26 of moving the read point R on the basis of the moving direction stored in the means 27 and even if a recording track from which an address signal can not read by the address discriminating means 19 is detected during the retrieval of the recording tracks, the read point R is moved in the moving direction stored in the means 27 to retrieve a recording track where desired information is recorded. |
