<p>The i.c. engine carburettor with starting control is esp. for a motor vehicle engine. It comprises an intake containing a main throttle, an upstream venturi with fuel supply and a pre-throttle. This throttle is closed by a temperature-sensitive element (e.g. a bimetal spring) when the engine is cold and, on starting, is opened by a predetermined amount by a delayed-action element responding to the vacuum downstream of the throttle and at the venturi. The element acts in two successive stages, initially responding to the vacuum downstream of the throttle and thereafter to the vacuum between the throttles.</p> |
