PURPOSE:To control a disk efficiently by setting cylinder address numbers, prescribed prior to operation, to cylinder addresses. CONSTITUTION:A means of counting the current cylinder address of a head and a means 32 of storing cylinder addresses 34 prescribed on the basis of the frequency of the existence of a fault on the disk surface are provided. Then, two cylinder addresses 35 and 36 obtained from both the means are compared 33 mutually and according to the comparison result, a method of retrying when an error occurs is selected. |
