Supply network protection and automation system - uses outer stations for each network branch and substations all with microprocessor control

The system has a number of branches, each incorporating at least one microprocessor controlled at outer stations. This has inputs receiving measured electrical values and monitored values, and outputs coupled to network protection devices. The outer stations are coupled to a common central bus, which is in turn coupled to a remote-controlled sub- station incorporating a control microprocessor and associated with a network automisation control and controlling data transfer to the central bus. An additional sub-station also incorporating a microprocessor provides back-up protection and has inputs for the protection data fed to the outer stations. The system is simple and can be readily adapted according to the supply network.
