The conveyor unit is suitable for conveying bulk goods over large stretches, which bulk goods are harmful to the surroundings, e.g. they give off dust or emit vapour or steam, if they are conveyed on a conventional, open conveyor. For this purpose, the conveyor unit has an endless conveyor belt (1) running on rollers (6). A number of drivers (2) fitted at mutual spacings is fastened on the upper side of the conveyor belt (1) and in the longitudinal direction thereof. The lower run of the conveyor belt (1) forms the upper side of a trough (3) which is fitted beneath the conveyor unit and in which the goods are guided forwards with the aid of the drivers (2). This conveyor unit is simple to maintain. Additional exterior screens are not necessary. <IMAGE>
