PURPOSE:To increase the garbage processing speed, by commonly using the garbage processing by a reference counter and that by a marking bit, while referring to the content of an overflow display bit. CONSTITUTION:A cell 8 is provided with a control information storage section 8-3 consisting of a reference counter 32, an overflow display bit 33 and a mark bit 34. Thus, the content of an overflow display bit 33 is confirmed, tje cell 8 subjected to the overflow is excluded from the objective of gabbage processing based on the content of the reference counter 32, and the garbage processing similar to that of the reference counter system is made to the cell 8 where the overflow display bit 33 is not set. |
