1318217 Asymmetrically substituted bistriazinylaminostilbene solutions CIBA-GEIGY AG 21 Oct 1970 [22 Oct 1969] 50033/70 Heading C2C [Also in Divisions C3 and D1] An aqueous brightener solution contains 10-40% by weight of alkali metal or ammonium salts of compounds of formula wherein the non-located SO 3 H groups are meta or para with respect to the -NH- group; R is H or C 1-4 alkyl, X is a 2,5 or 2,3- or 3,5-dimethylmorpholinyl group, the solution containing a mixture of all three isomers with respect to X. The solution may be diluted and then used for optically brightening natural or synthetic polymeric organic material (see Divisions C3 and D1-D2). The salts may be prepared by reacting together cyanuric chloride, diethanolamine, the dimethyl morpholines, 4,41-diaminostilbene-2,21-disulphonic acid and sulphanilic, alkyl-sulphanilic, metanilic or alkylmetanilic acid.
