Screen-wash for front and rear windscreens - has reversible impeller and automatic flap valve

The front and rear windscreen wash using only one pump has the radial impeller powered by a reversible motor, and with the water flow operating an automatic flap valve to close off either the front or rear washer connecting pipe. The flap valve (23) pivots about an axis coaxial with the impeller and operates on two tangential output ducts (8,9) in the pump housing. The pump is operated by a remote reversing switch and is mounted directly on the water reservoir. No additional valves are required and the whole pump/valve assembly is fitted as one unit.
