The Parent Patent discloses an oxidn. hair-dyeing compsn. contg. standard developers and, as coupler, at least one 1,2-methylene- dioxy-benzene deriv. having formula (I) (where R is OH, NH2, NHR1 or NR1R2, in which R1 and R2 each is 1-4C alkyl, hydroxyalkyl or acyl) and opt. additional standard couplers. In the Patent of Addn., (I) used is a 4-amino-1, 2-methylene- dioxy-benzene deriv. having formula (II) (where R' is 1-4C alkyl or hydroxyalkyl), pref. 4-(beta-hydroxy-ethylamino) and 4-ethylamino-1,2-methylene dioxy-benzene. Fast blond to brown and ashen to black shades are obtd. which do not turn to rust-brown. The dyes are easily stripped with reducing agents. (II) can form strong, green shades with 1,4-diaminobenzene, 2,5-diaminotoluene, 2,5-diamino-benzyl alcohol or 2,5-diamino- anisol.
