<p>The damper is comprised of a cylindrical element of the type containing a liquid such as oil and a gas of which the compression varies according to the motions of a piston integral with a sliding rod, while a free piston forms a tight wall between the liquid and the gas contained therein. The rod (4) and the piston (6) which is integral therewith are provided with means for braking the passage of liquid from one side to the other side of the piston (6) and the opposing sides of the pistons (6 and 15) are provided for an interpenetration (from 22 to 24) at the end of the compression stroke, so that the liquid acts to prevent any striking. The apparatus also comprises means (17) for charging the gas and for adjusting the pressure. Applications particularly to motor vehicles. </p> |
