The spacer is also intended for fastening electric components. It has an insulating socket (2) which has a coaxial arrangement of a front plug member (6) and a rear plug retainer (7), consisting of several small tines (8). The two parts fit together and the front plug member protrudes over a stop surface (10). From the front side extend component retaining apertures (17,20) through the plug member back to the plug retainer. Pref. the plug member and/or the plug retainer are secured against rotation. The retaining apertures may be in the form of clamping slits (17), to which funnel-shaped shafts (18,19) may lead. Alternately, a central bore (20), surrounded by radial clamping slits may form the retaining apertures. The plug member has on the front side a centering depression (20). The socket has separating strips (14) in the plug retainer. If the socket is polygonal, it has lateral, oppositely positive connectors.
