The shears have blades (2,3) connected by a pivot bolt (1) and provided with handles (4,5). A spring (6) keeps the blades in the open position, when not in use. One blade (2) has a concave cutting edge (7), with increasing curvature towards the tip (2'). The other cutting edge (8) on the opposite blade (3) has a convex shape along the tip-adjacent section (8') joined by a concave section towards the bolt. Near to the bolt, the handle (5) has an arresting lever (15), fixed to a torsion soring and operated by a knob (16) with a serrated surface. When the shears are in the closed position, the lever can be turned clockwise until it comes to rest against a shoulder on the lower part of the blade, keeping the shears closed.
