The invention is based on a blood sampling device in which a blood sampling tube is inserted into a cylindrical holder which is open at one side and is provided at the other side with a double-ended hollow needle. The blood sampling tube is evacuated and is sealed with a pierceable membrane so that, upon insertion, that end of the double-ended hollow needle projecting into the inside of the holder pierces the membrane and thus creates a connection of the evacuated inside of the blood sampling tube to the outer end of the hollow needle. In order to facilitate the piercing of the inner end of the hollow needle through the membrane with an eccentric arrangement of the needle in the holder, the membrane has an annular groove (219) which provides a thin point (519') which the needle strikes upon insertion of the blood sampling tube into the holder.
