PURPOSE:A melted polymer blend in which two or more different kinds of polymer phases form irregular blocks is converted into a pluraity of separated fibrous fine streams, solidified to produce the titled fiber with irregular cross section changing in an iregular period in the fiber-length direction. CONSTITUTION:A melted polymer blend in which at least two different kinds of polymers form irregular blocks is fed immediately before the fiber-forming zone of the spinneret having a plurality of finely rough surface structure and teens to 1,500, per 1cm<2>, of fine slits. The melted polymer blend includes nebulalike structure (a), wood-grainlike multilayer structure (b) island-in-sea structure and others in the fiver cross section. The resultant fiber changes in the cross section along the fiber- length direction in an iregular period and the factor of change in fiber cross section ranges from 0.05 to 1.0. |
