PURPOSE:To enable foaming to instantly stop so as to reduce the scatter of foaming when the foaming is stopped, by introducing, after the start of foaming of foamable thermoplastic resin particles, a gas into a batch type foaming tank thereby stopping the foaming. CONSTITUTION:Foamable thermoplastic resin particles are introduced from a hopper 6 into the foaming tank 1, and steam is blown from a steam blower 9 into the foaming tank 1. By the blowing of the steam, the particles in the foaming tank 1 are foamed and expand, so that the level of the particle layer raises. When it is required to foam the particles under pressure during this period, the pressure in the foaming tank 1 is detected by a pressure gauge 10, and the opening of a steam valve 8 is controlled manually or by a controller 11 as required. After introducing a gas for a certain period, a circuit valve 13 is closed, and a foamed particle discharge valve 16 is opened to allow the foamed particles to fall into a receiver 17. |
