PURPOSE:Starch milk is filtered and dehydrated, then a foaming agent is made to soak in the starch and the resultant starch is brought into contact with hot air of high temperature for a short time to produce the objective starch that is plastic and porously swollen with high water and oil retention. CONSTITUTION:When starch is produced by a usual method, the purified starch milk, before subjected to drying, is filtered and dehydrated to form a cake. Then, the cake is mixed with a foaming agent that vigorously gasifies when heated, preferably with ammonium bicarbonate and soaked therewith, then dried by bringing it into contact with hot air of 200-500 deg.C, preferably 350-450 deg.C for several seconds. |
