HERB MEDICINE IN SOLID FORM

PURPOSE:To obtain a herb medicine in a solid form by packaging a herb medicine compressed with a certain pressure with a synthetic resin film. CONSTITUTION:One of herb medicines which are cut into pieces measuring 5-8mm such as geranium herb or Japanese angelica root or a formulated herb medicine such as KAKKONTO (decoction of Kudzu) is molded with a compression molding press under 170-230kg/cm<2> and packed with a synthetic resin film (for example, a nylon-polyethylene-vinylidene chloride laminated film) to give a herb medicine to be used as a decoction preparation. The preparation is made easily foldable by forming creases 3 every dose a day or administration and packaged. It may be formed into disks corresponding to every dose. Since the herb medicines are compressed, the bulk volume is reduced and the storage, transportation and display on the shelf become advantageous and convenient. Further, the quality is kept good.
