PURPOSE:To eliminate the hysteresis of the response signal at the opening or closing of an opening and closing body by providing a detector in the manual operating part of a freely openable original conveyor or the like to the body of a copying machine and generating an opening or closing signal therefrom. CONSTITUTION:When an original conveyor 12 or the like latched to the body 11 of a copying machine by means of a magnet 10 is opened or closed by the manual opening and closing lever 15 of the device 12, the moving locus of one end part 15b forming a detector of the lever 15 is detected with a photocoupler 16. Hence, a signal for de-energizing of the magnet 10, inhibition of the operation of the body 11 or emergency stop thereof can be generated by the hysteresis-free detection signal from the coupler 16 at the opening or closing of the device 12. The operation of the body of the copying machine despite unlatching of the opening and closing body or the cancelation of the emergency stop signal despite perfect latching is prevented by the operation inhibition or emergency stop signal generated prior to the opening or closing operation of the opening and closing body. |
